My cousin Shelly recently celebrated getting married to her fiancé Jake. Following along with tradition we wanted to shower them with gifts. Here are the photos from the bridal shower that we threw for them.
Shelly and Jake have such laid back personalities, that in order to make them feel comfortable, we had a rustic chic BBQ. The shower was held at my sister Jen’s house. Originally the party was going to be outdoors; however, on the day of the party there were rain showers threatening overhead, so we stayed inside.
For the wedding Shelly was going with a theme of Black-eyed Susan’s, so we tried to use that as the inspiration. All the baked-treats were done by my mom,and I. The cake was a gift given by Jake’s sister Renia.
Tissue paper pom-poms decorated the space along with fresh picked flowers from market. We offered fresh iced tea and lemonade, with burgers and hot-dogs. Homemade pasta salad and fruit salad offered a light side dish, contrasting with the sweet dessert table which was laid out.
We offered yellow and brown candies for those who wanted to indulge their sweet tooth. Strawberry tarts, little marshmallow treats, and palmiers were also available.
This was my first try at creating a dessert table, so I would appreciate comments or constructive criticism.
